5 1/2 months out from sleeve surgery and prego.
HELLO ALL!!! I found out I was prego last week on a home test. Today I went to my primary doctor and she confrimed it. I will be going to my obgyn later in the day. I am shock and nervous. This was not planned I had the nuva ring fail. I can be between 4-8 weeks. I went to my surgeon today also and he said MOST women this early out have miscarriges. This was not planned but I want to have my baby. His statement makes me extremely nervous and even more scared. I know he is just doing his job. My labs where done about 2 weeks ago and everything was perfect-I am still a little anemic but I have always been. I have stalled in weight loss in the last month not sure if its due to the preganancy or just a normal stall.
Does anybody know any stats on the likelyhood I will have a miscarriage?
Thanks and any info will be greatly appericated.

Most of the women here who get pregnant soon after their surgeries actually do just fine!
You're 5 1/2 what from surgery? Days? Weeks? Months?

First, take a deep breath! Second, congratulations! Third, punch your surgeon in the face for having such bad "bedside manor"! Even if that were true about miscarriges (which it is not) he certainly didn't need to deliver the news like that!
Ok, now that you've got that out of the way... You'll probably be just fine. I got pregnant 6 months after my sleeve surgery and the baby (now almost 4 months old) is perfectly healthy. I had a very easy and uneventful pregnancy, much like my pregnancy pre wls. Neither my ob nor my surgeon had any sleeve related concerns and the baby grew and developed just fine. He was even a little bigger than my pre-sleeve baby (and he was born earlier). Make sure you take your vitamins, eat small frequent meals, drink all day long, and enjoy the ride!

Thanks everyone!! I just keep reading your responses over and over lol...I just came from my obgyn and she said I would still be considered high risk because of my high blood pressure and my surgery. She was very understanding and informative. She has check my blood levels and will recheck in 2 days. Please keep me in your thoughts!!! And again thank you....
Hey sweetie! I'm just as paranoid as you - but I'm 6 months post - op and doing very well at 13 weeks pregnant.
Baby is growing as it should be and I'm trying to get down as many calories, nutrients as I can!
Then only thing my OBGYN recommended was going off ALL vitamins except for the prenatal because so many vitamins have herbs and such in them. So I did do that.
But yes, it is scary after VSG. I am so scared. But I also have to understand that God allowed this as baby was not planned, and so He's watching over us.
We can do this! and many woman have had successful pregnancies!!
Keep me informed!
xoxo
